THE MORE LATER I PROMISED (UPDATED 25APR15)
THE MORE LATER I
PROMISED
I DO
NOT CONSIDER MYSELF AN ACADEMIC JUST SOMEONE SELF EDUCATED BY PUBLIC
SCHOOLS AND EXPERIENCE OF LIFE AND MY EXPLORATION OF THE NOVELS,
DOCUMENTS, FILMS ETC. OF OUR TIME. I claim the title of Historian, and the accumulated facts and figures I deem reliable, form the basis of my opinions.
The
League of Nations and the United Nations were
and are attempts to end wars of conquest. American hands are not
clean, the Indian reservations are concentration camps formed for
entire nations of people, clearly as advanced as we white 'settlers'
but deemed “in the way”; Hitler made the statement in “Mein Kampf” that he deemed the conquest of eastern territory was akin to
the American (actually U.S.) regard for 'redskin Indians'.
A interesting video I just saw today and don't have a clue of its credence but is well made:
WAR IS A RACKET
by Major general Smedley D. Butler, two time winner of Congressional Medal of Honor
TRADING WITH THE ENEMY ACT
ACT OCT. 6, 1917, CH. 106, 40 STAT. 411
EXCERPTS FROM THE BOOK
"TRADING WITH THE ENEMY"
by Charles Higham (Delacorte Press, 1983)

The
Versailles Treaty may have been heavy handed but the sense of
outrage at the treatment of civilians at German hands (and the record
of ruthlessness in WWI by the Wehrmacht is clear,) in the age
of wire serviced newspapers, photographs, motion pictures and radio. Television and now the
internet can potentially make military activities even more transparent to the
public and subject to the judgement and criticisms of that same
public and this is as it should be.
The
hope for economic cooperation is the most important struggle that
exists today, attempts to bleed the foreign people, our own fellow
citizens, remains the same grave moral imperitive today as it did in
Grandfather Franklin Delano Roosevelt's day; recent blogging to
denigrate this titan of a man and the effect his administration had
on his fellow citizens is the same left vs. right and vice vrsa
horseshit that does not accept
the truth of the senses, those days are over; there is no dedicated
ideological movement to transform or overthrow our constitutional
form we live in. Think on that. The organized movement abroad to
reinstate the caliphate of former days by fractional numbers of
Muslim humanity has been the danger we face today, the beheading
purposely presented to the public—the plotting of terror, I have
read is the tactic of the impotent. The need for understanding,
respect for one another, and acceptance of difference is still
important. The welfare state is over, Obamacare is run by private
corporations, it is the attempt to make medical care available in a
sensible nuts and bolts method instead of making the insured minority
pay for the uninsured majority which bancrupted GM. Can we eliminate
greed, or can we just see how we are formed and fitted together alike
by nature and the almighty; is “the rich get richer and the poor
get poorer” an in escapable destiny beyond human ingenuity to
solve?

Woke Up this Mornin' with the Walking Blues—updated 28JAN15
Been going through a rough patch here; been in 'Hard Times' more than once but I'm alright now...you know what Ringo says, "You gotta pay your dues, if you wanna play the Blues." I appreciate all the family support, we lost two dear relations, J.O. Purcell and Laura Stafford, Uncle Robert Jr.'s girl he used to call 'Suzy'; i never knew it was a nickname, all four of his kids had nicknames, maybe all those years as a Master Sergeant in the Army has something to do with that.
Our dear Aunt Dene has gone home to be with the Lord, nothing will ever be the same.

Roger Maris 1961
American League MVP 1960 and 1961 and the non-steroid home run king; Mr. Maris belongs in the Hall of Fame, delay of this and the admission of any steroid era ballplayer to the Hall will forever tarnish the reputation of the BWAA who do the voting—his demand for a little league park for kids as condition to return to the Bronx is character all over.
